RDR2's wildlife system was extraordinary. GTA 6's will probably be lighter - by design, not by capability. We work through why.

Why RDR2 went deep

Western setting where wildlife was central to story and economy. Hunting, skinning, animal-quality grading were all gameplay loops. The wildlife system was one of the game's primary mechanics.

GTA 6 isn't built around any of that. Wildlife will be present and decent but not load-bearing in the same way.

What GTA 6 is likely to share

Animal AI fidelity - movement, response to threats. Visible biome-specific species. Decent animation quality. These are RDR2-derived expectations that should carry forward.

What we don't expect: full ecology simulation, hunting-as-mechanic depth, animal-quality systems.
