The Everglades-coded region in GTA 6 is the most wildlife-dense environment shown in any official footage. We catalogue what's visible and what the real ecology suggests.
For the wider list, see the wildlife list page; for the region tour, see the Everglades region guide.
Confirmed in trailer footage
Alligators (covered separately). Flamingos (covered separately). Various waterfowl in flight. A wading bird that reads as a heron or egret. Insects implied by audio - cicadas in the background of certain wetland sequences.
Plausible based on real ecology
Florida panthers. Manatees in the connecting waterways. White-tailed deer. River otters. Turtles. Various fish species (less visible but standard).
Snakes - python (invasive in real Everglades), water moccasin, rattlesnake. Whether GTA 6 includes these depends on Rockstar's animation budget and tolerance for ground-level threat models.
What the wildlife system implies
If the wetlands ship with even half of the plausible species list, the wildlife system in GTA 6 is meaningful. RDR2 set the bar; the Everglades-coded environment is where GTA 6 will most directly invite the comparison.
Hunting - covered on the hunting speculation page - is the natural follow-up question. Not confirmed for GTA 6.
